Cost Estimates

Providing you with a breakdown of the anticipated build costs so you can make informed decisions early in the process.

Useful for Homeowners, Architects, Builders, Sub-Contractors, and Developers.

Budgets Enabling Informed Decision Making

A Cost Estimate uses “m2 rates” to provide a clear overview of the anticipated build costs of your construction project. These estimates can be created as early as the Concept Design stage, offering valuable insights to help everyone involved understand the budget and where expenses will be allocated.

This clarity empowers you to plan your budget effectively, right from the start.
By receiving a detailed breakdown early on, Cost Estimates enable Clients and Stakeholders to grasp their building costs before committing more time or money into their project.

This pro-active approach not only supports informed decision making, but also opens opportunities for Value Engineering, allowing you to identify potential cost savings and optimise your project.

In short, having a solid Cost Estimate in hand is key to successful project planning and financial management.

How a Cost Estimate could have saved this client more than $20,000 before the project had even started!

Ninety3 was recently engaged to quote a job on behalf of a builder, who was one of three contractors tendering for a house renovation. The plans that were sent out to the builders were at a developed stage of design, ready to be submitted to the City Council for Building Consent.

Unfortunately for the client, all 3x quotes that they received were well over their budget, meaning that they had invested more than $30,000 into a design for a rennovation that was that was not suitable for their budget.

How would an Elemental Cost Estimate have helped:

If the client had engaged a Quantity Surveyor early in the design process, they would have been provided with a Cost Estimate, completed as early as the concept designs.

The estimate would have provided a breakdown of the anticipated renovation costs, and the insights gained from this report would have given the client the opportunity to explore cost-saving alternatives early. They could have then worked closely with the Architect to adjust the designs to better suit their budget before making further investments in the design & construction process.
